Dr. Catherine Pointon graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in biochemistry. She graduated in 1990 from New York Medical College where she completed both residencies in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. She was board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1993 and the American Board of Dermatology in 1996. She became re-certified in Dermatology in 2006.
Dr. Pointon is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association, North Carolina Dermatology Association and North Carolina Medical Society. She’s been in private practice since 1996 and has been practicing in Charlotte, NC since 1998. Dr. Pointon specializes in all aspects of general medical and pediatric dermatology. She’s also proficient in Spanish.
Elisa Edgerton is a board-certified nurse practitioner with 12 years of combined nursing and medical aesthetic experience. After becoming a nurse practitioner, Elisa chose to devote herself to the field of aesthetics. She cares deeply about the unique needs of each of her patients. Elisa combines both her medical and artistic expertise with each patient’s unique wishes and concerns. She is passionate about creating a fully customized treatment plan for the most natural, flattering results.
Elisa’s an expert in the microcannula technique with facial fillers. She’s also dedicated to continuing education in the field of aesthetics, staying current with the best and newest approaches to facial injectables.
Elisa resides in Matthews. In her off-time, she enjoys hiking, visiting the beach, and other outdoor activities with her husband, two children, and their dog. Elisa also enjoys volunteering at the local help center and food pantry with her daughter.
Rebecca Lee Strunk-Lail
Rebecca Strunk-Lail is a board-certified dermatology physician assistant who completed her B.S. in Health Sciences from James Madison University. She is a graduate of James Madison University’s Physician Assistant program where she received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree.
Rebecca is board-certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants. She began her career as a dermatology physician assistant in Charlotte. She has years of experience in the evaluation and management of medical and surgical dermatologic conditions, with a focus on general dermatology, acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and skin cancer screening and prevention in adults and pediatrics.
She values strong patient relationships that are based on trust, openness, communication, and education. Rebecca is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
When Rebecca isn’t working, she enjoys running and spending time with her husband, her Great Dane, and her Yorkshire Terrier.
Tosha has 10 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant, all of which have been spent with us at Dermatology Practice of the Carolinas. She is now a licensed aesthetician with extensive training in microdermabrasion, chemical peels, rejuvenating facials, acne facials. She specializes in Revision, Epionce, SENTÉ and Obagi products. Tosha is committed to providing quality care and enjoys helping her patients achieve life-changing improvements to the quality and health of their skin
